My Birthday Party Menu

My birthday is July 23, and I’ll be 16 years old! Last Saturday, we celebrated my birthday party because that worked best with our schedule.

I picked out a fresh, flavorful meal that we really enjoyed! Here, I’ll share with you all the recipes we used. We did adapt some of them, so these aren’t exactly what we had, but you can adapt them how you’d like, too!

Creamy Cucumber Salad by Lemon Tree Dwelling

This salad was a beautiful balance of creamy and crunchy, with bright, herby flavors throughout.

Crispy Baked Zucchini Fries by Wholesome Yum

These fries were excellent – salty and cheesy!

Broccoli Bacon Salad by Betty Crocker

I loved this dish! It was bursting with flavor and color.

Easy Caprese Chicken by All Day I Dream About Food

My dad grilled this chicken, and my mom added a rich basil pesto. Loved it!

Cheesy Keto Bread by Ditch the Carbs

This bread is a favorite in my family! This recipe is pretty close to ours, but we weren’t sure where we originally found it.

Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream by Minimalist Baker

This had the texture of gelato, and we made it chocolate by adding 2/3 to 3/4 of a cup of cocoa powder. Wow.

Keto Vanilla Birthday Cake by The Big Man’s World

This cake is awesome. It had a moist, soft crumb that stayed together, and just the right amount of sweetness. Someone should have taken a picture of a slice, because it looked very cool! Between the two layers of cake, there was cream cheese filling (basically cream cheese mixed with sugar of choice, and maybe some vanilla and salt), and a bright, tart layer of cooked-down raspberries to balance all the richness.

Paleo Chocolate Frosting by Perchance to Cook

My mom improvised her chocolate frosting for this cake, but she found this recipe and said it was very similar. This frosting is the best – sweet, smooth, fluffy, and chocolatey.

To decorate the outside of the cake, my mom melted some chocolate, swirled it on parchment paper in different shapes, and let it harden in the fridge. I think it turned out beautifully, especially with the fresh raspberries!

Which of these recipes looks the best to you?

What is a memorable dish or dessert you’ve had?

  2. Happy early birthday!!! I loved being sixteen… hope you do, too. 🙂
That menu sounds delish! Especially the frosting. 🙂 For my birthday last year I made a raspberry swirl cheesecake… it was so yummy.

      1. That is so nice to have someone go that extra mile 🙂 You are most welcome Shae. Oh and I mean to say about you not being so present, it happens. There are times we will have nothing but time for the blogs, and times we will not have any. Don’t let it bother you. We love you, and know you love us too 🙂

      1. That’s great!! 😀 We went to my grandparents’ house and also saw a lot of cousins that we rarely get to see, so it was a whole lot of fun!
