Where Are the Thanksgiving Carols?

Thanksgiving seems to be a neglected holiday in some ways. People skip right from Halloween season to Christmastime (or even straight from summer to Christmas). But there are so many wonderful things about Thanksgiving!

My mom and I were questioning why there isn’t really Thanksgiving music. Then, we realized that there is! Here are some of our favorite thankful songs. You can check out my mom’s blog and read her perspective on grateful songs she enjoys.

“Jesus, We Are Grateful” by Jason Gray

“Thank You for Everything” by Jason Gray

“Counting Every Blessing” by Rend Collective

“Grateful in All Things” by Keiyana Osmond

I hope you enjoy this thankful season and these thankful songs! Praise God for all he has done for us!

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
– Psalm 100 (KJV)

Have you ever heard Psalm 100 sung? It’s beautiful.

What Thanksgiving songs do you like?

  1. This is awesome! I never thought about the musical aspect of Thanksgiving. This year, I am guilty of waltzing straight into Christmas but that doesn’t mean I am not taking time to savor the beauty of Thanksgiving! I hope to rejoice in gratitude while celebrating the spirit of Christmas! :)))

  2. Shae, I love Thanksgiving hymns… songs of Thankfulness and Praising Him. There are two songs that help me so much as a young single mother raising a little preacher boy. Thank You For The Blood (a song on a Joyce Meyer’s favorite songs CD, and the Thank You For Giving to the Lord by Ray Boltz.
It was my testimony in each stanza. God is so good!
I have nominated you for The 1 Grateful Person Tag because I believe you truly are.
    God loves you!

  3. Christmas has changed so much for me within the past few years. It’s not just a “holiday” anymore, though the traditions of family gatherings I suppose is. Probably need to expand more in December 😉

I LOVE the idea of looking for songs on being thankful and grateful! What a great idea, Shae! I may have to create a Thanksgiving list!
